Minutes of the April 24, 2001 meeting of the STNYLUG --


We had another exceptional turn-out, with six in attendance (not counting
the host) which is even better than the previous month. Keep up the good work!!
In the mix were some new faces and some familiar ones. Perhaps they can
persuade some others to attend next time.

We again had a home machine brought in that needed a little prodding to
talk to the dial-up service of choice. This time the modem was ready to
go, so the effort was on configuration of the dialer script and DNS info.
(Although the 'owners' were a 'little' late in arriving (what gives?)
prolonging the fun, a good time was had by all)

And as usual there was the 'required' MS bashing, various ISP bashing and
other sundry war stories, all somehow, finally relating to Open Source
Software, LINUX  and other associated topics.

Thanks to Jonathan for the donuts.  MMmmmmmmmm. (AGAIN!?!?, this MAY become a habit!)
